* For the sub primary age group we do not undertake "formal" grading. The players will be asked to participate in some group activities. The selectors will then observe the players and assess their level of ability, age, experience etc, so that they can be placed into an appropriate team. We want to ensure that the experience is stress free and fun for players in this age group and find that this is a great way to do this.

  • Two grading sessions have been allocated to some age groups due to the large number of players participating. Players are expected to attend BOTH sessions. In the event that the grading panel are satisfied after the first grading session, the second session may be cancelled.

  • Boys can participate if they are 12 years old or under. Once they turn 12 years old they are no longer eligible to play in the SADNA competition, however if they turn 12 during the season they are able to complete the season.

  • If for some reason a grading session is not able to go ahead on the scheduled date, eg in case of bad weather, the grading session will be deferred and a new date advised.

  • If you are not able to attend a grading session, please email us to let us know ASAP by emailing us at

  • For all grades Primary to Seniors, please consider your choice of positions.  The first two positions selected will be what the graders primarily use in the grading session/s and how the player is allocated to a team.  The third position is occasionally used to fill a void in a team or to give the coach further positional options. We encourage you to speak with your coach for guidance prior to selecting the positions at registration.

Training is on Wednesday nights at the HVNC courts, located at 5a Leeds Ave, Hope Valley.  If there is insufficient court space for all registered teams in a season, some teams (most likely senior age groups) may be asked to train at an alternative venue. Your coach will let you know the training details for your team.

NB. Attendance at training is mandatory for all players. Where a player is not able to train at all during the season due to other commitments the player is not able to play at the Hope Valley Netball Club. This is to ensure that all players are treated fairly, and the coach and team are able to develop together, learn set plays, strategies, drills etc. and build team cohesion.

Hope Valley Netball Club participates in the Sports Voucher Program, which is a state government initiative to help make organised sport more affordable. The program entitles students (up to and including Year 9), to a voucher valued at $100 to help cover the cost of participation. You can find out more about the voucher scheme  at This can only be claimed once in 2024. From 1 January 2025 the scheme will be expanded to twice a year.

NB In 2024 you can only claim this ONCE a year across any sport. The PlayHQ system will let you enter and claim it, even if you’ve already done so this year, as there is no front end check. This then requires our hardworking and overworked treasurer to have to follow you up for payment of the amount owed.

If you are not sure if you’ve already claimed the voucher you can check here…

The basic skills development program, designed for children between 5 and 7 years old, is run at the Leeds Ave courts, on Wednesday afternoons from 5.30pm - 6.15pm, during school term. The aim of these sessions is to prepare players for competition netball, which players can join once they have reached 7 years of age.

The next program will be run in Term 2 2025. To be placed on the wait list for this program you can email our membership officer at

If you need to make a payment outside of the PlayHQ registration (e.g. for fundraising items) please click here: Payments.

We are pleased to announce that InterSport at Golden Grove (located at the Grove Shopping Centre, formerly known as the Village Shopping Centre) is our official Uniform supplier. Please visit InterSport Golden Grove for all of your uniform needs. For more details see Uniforms.
