IMPORTANT NOTES RE TEAM SELECTIONS
-
Failure to attend team selections makes it extremely difficult to accurately place players in a team, and although the selectors do their best, it is often detrimental to the player who does not attend as they cannot be properly assessed by the selectors. Where there are two players of similar ability vying for selection, the player who attends team selections is more likely to have preference over the player who is not able to attend.
-
Two team selection sessions are required for some age groups due to the large number of players participating. Players are expected to attend BOTH sessions.
-
For the sub primary age group the players will be asked to participate in some group activities rather than play in matches. The selectors will then observe the players and assess their level of ability, age, experience etc, so that they can be placed into an appropriate team. We want to make sure the experience is stress free and fun for players in this age group.
-
Boys can register if they are under 12 at the time of registration. If a boy turns 12 during the season they are able to complete the season.
-
If for some reason a team selection session is not able to go ahead on the scheduled date, eg in case of inclement weather, the session will be deferred and a new date advised.
-
If you are not able to attend a team selection session, please let us know ASAP by emailing us at trials.hopevalleync@gmail.com.
Friend requests - for SUB PRIMARY AGE ONLY. When forming sub primary teams the selectors will take into account friendship groups, so if a player would like to be placed into a team with another specific player please let us know. You can make a "friend request" by emailing trials.hopevalleync@gmail.com but please note both players must ask to be kept together, so make sure you let your friend know that you have asked to be with them, and ask them to do the same. NB: If the players are not of similar ability, players will be placed in a grade suitable for the player of the lesser skill level. For example, if one player is considered to be SP3 standard, and one of SP1, but they want to play together, the SP1 player would be placed in SP3, so this may impact the development of the player with greater skill.

WHEN AND WHERE DOES HVNC TRAIN?
Training is on Wednesday nights at the HVNC courts, located at 5a Leeds Ave, Hope Valley. If there are insufficient available courts for all registered teams in a season, some teams may be asked to train at an alternative venue. Your coach will let you know the training details for your team.
NB. Attendance at training is mandatory for all players. Where a player is not able to train at all during the season due to other commitments the player is not able to play at the Hope Valley Netball Club. This is to ensure that all players are treated fairly, and the coach and team are able to develop together, learn set plays, strategies, drills etc. and build team cohesion.

SPORTS VOUCHERS
